Welcome to our Prints On-line pages. Here you may browse and order prints of selected items from our fine art and historic photograph collections. The images have either been digitally derived from high quality transparencies or, increasingly, by all-digital means. Prints are offered on high quality art paper, using archival quality inks for longevity. It is our policy that art prints are no bigger than the original works, so this will be reflected in the sizes you will see on individual order pages.
Using the site: The images all have embedded keywords related to the subject matter, so you can try entering suitable terms of enquiry into the search window and see if that produces a good result. However, it is hard to cover every possible search term in this way, so if that doesn't produce useful results, please try browsing through the site using either the main title links (below) or by using the drop-down menus and selecting from the sub-categories on offer.

Like most museums, Guernsey Museums & Galleries have substantial photographic holdings, in a variety of formats. Of particular interest, and showcased here, are historic images derived from glass negatives which the museum acquired in 1983. The photographer was F W Guerin and the plates were taken around the turn of the 19th century. Buyers should be aware that the high resolution scanning of these historic glass plates does expose every flaw in the condition of the silver halide image layer. Limited retouching has been done to remove obvious flaws in the sky areas but please contact us if you wish to commission full retouching by our processing laboratory.
Our current art collecting policy focuses almost exclusively on works either by Guernsey artists or depictions of the Bailiwick (or its people) by visiting artists. However, the museum also inherited older collections of more general origin which provide reference contrast to the local material. Overall, the collection includes more than 2000 catalogued items.
We are initially offering prints of a fairly limited selection of works by well known local artists like Paul Jacob Naftel, Peter Le Lievre and William John Caparne. To some extent this reflects the easy option as far as copyright is concerned (artists' copyright has lapsed) but we intend to extend the range and quantity of works on offer if this initial project is successful.
